The health room is staffed by registered nurses between 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM. The purpose of the health room is to administer emergency first aid, dispense medication under specific direction from parents, and contact parents of children who have elevated temperatures or who are otherwise ill and cannot remain in school. The nurses also maintain records of physical exams, immunizations, and on-going medical conditions such asthma or diabetes. Please remember that the staff cannot administer medications--prescription or non-prescription--without authorization from the physician and from the parent/guardian.

Documentation of physical exams is required for students in both kindergarten and fifth grade and for all new entrants to St. Joseph School. Records of immunizations according to state guidelines are also required to be on file with the health room.
