Registration Schedule for the 2005/2006 School Year:

 

February 11 – February 18 - Registration of students currently enrolled St. Joseph School.

 

March 3 – Kindergarten Tours – 1:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.  Please call (636) 441-0055 – ext 200 – to make reservations for the evening tour – day tours need no reservations.

 

March 4 – Kindergarten Tour – 9:00 a.m.

 

March 11 – Applications for new kindergarten through 8th grade students –

Applications will be accepted on this date for all grade levels from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria. No application will be finalized until all steps have been completed.  This process is not on a first come-first served basis.  If all necessary documentation is provided, the process should only take a short time.

 

This is a three-part process:

1.            Submission of the application to St. Joseph School with all documentation.

a.      Copy (for school’s files) of Birth Certificate

b.      Copy (for school’s files) of Baptismal Certificate

c.      Social Security Number

d.      $200.00 Application Fee (non-refundable)– per student

e.      Signed release for records from previous school and a copy (for school’s files) of the last report card.

2.            Student academic assessment testing for grade level.

3.   Interview with the assistant principal (parent and student).

 

The criteria for admission in St. Joseph School is as follows:

 

Families applying to St. Joseph Catholic School must demonstrate to the Administration (pastor/principal) a desire for the special kind of school where Catholic teaching and moral formation are an integral part of the school philosophy and environment.  This includes:

a.     Participation in the spiritual and community life of the parish or religious congregation.

b.     Support of the concepts upheld in the Parish Witness Statement.

c.     Agreement and willingness to follow the policies and procedures of St. Joseph School and the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

d.     Willingness to financially support the Parish/school.

e.     Willingness to cooperate with the teachers and administration in the moral, psychological, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and academic development of  their children.

f.      For admission into Kindergarten, children must be 5 years of age by August 1, 2005.

For admission into first grade, children must be 6 years of age by August 1, 2005.

            

The Principal will place the student in a class according to his/her level of achievement and needs.  Admission and grade placement will be determined by the results of screening tests, standardized achievement scores, report card, and records from the previous schools attended and by the school’s ability to meet student’s needs.  If there are more qualified applicants than openings available, a waiting list will be formed.      

 

March 21-22-23 – New Kindergarten Screenings – Appointment times will be assigned at the time of application. No screening appointments will be given to incomplete applications.
